It’s been a while since I have posted anything here. And my goodness a lot has happened! So what’s prompted this? No less than my picture in the paper!
You can keep track of me on Twitter - micro blogging at its best ;0)
Anyways - I am officially in my taper now. That means there is less than 2 weeks to go for the Virgin London Marathon! I am getting nervous but feel really pleased with the training I have done so far. Touch wood I’m on my way to get a sub 4hr time... That means running consistently at less that 9:00min miles.
Next week I am carb loading. That means eating, (but not over eating) low GI foods to ensure my energy levels are at their optimum levels for the race. Failure to do this correctly = hitting the so called ‘wall’. When you literally run out of energy and your body starts burning fat. (sounds like a good thing to be burning fat - but its not...)
Sunday I’m off to Brighton to watch a friend run the first ever Brighton Marathon! Stuart is running that for Help for Heros. Go Stuart!
Next week I’ll have quite a bit of time on my hands as I will be tapering even further. I’ll use that time to stick an update here of what I’ve been up to since February.
Finally - a big thank you to everyone who has donated so far! If you haven’t yet - please visit my sponsorship page and give generously. Leukaemia CARE is a great cause!
